2006 murderer Marius van der Westhuizen's parole overturned in South Africa.

Former police officer Marius van der Westhuizen's parole for the 2006 murder of his three children has been overturned by the Correctional Supervision and Parole Review Board in South Africa. Van der Westhuizen was initially granted parole in June but the decision was reversed after a review by the Department of Correctional Services. Van der Westhuizen was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the murders in 2011 and his parole revocation has been welcomed by Minister of Correctional Services, Pieter Groenewald, who is committed to reforming the parole system to better protect vulnerable members of society.
