Microsoft acquires 70.9 acres in Mount Pleasant for $12.75m data center expansion, increasing jobs and AI skills training opportunities.

Microsoft acquires 70.9 acres of land in Mount Pleasant, Racine County, increasing its total land ownership to over 1,270 acres. The $12.75m purchase is for a $3.3bn data center project, initially planned for $1bn. This expansion aims to create over 2,000 construction jobs and provide AI skills training to 100,000 Wisconsin residents by 2030, through partnership with United Way Wisconsin. The land was previously intended for Foxconn's $9bn development.
