Iranian hackers linked to the country's Revolutionary Guard targeted personal email accounts of about a dozen people associated with US President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris since May, according to Google's Threat Analysis Group. The group, known as APT42, is actively attempting to breach the email accounts of individuals linked to the three political figures. Google's report supports a Microsoft report that revealed suspected Iranian cyber intrusion during this year's US presidential election. Google warns the targeted individuals via Gmail pop-up that a government-backed attacker may be attempting to steal their password.
