Gujarat to manufacture India's first indigenously developed semiconductor chip.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel announced that India's first indigenously developed semiconductor chip will be manufactured in the state. Gujarat has attracted an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in the electronics and chip manufacturing sectors. PM Narendra Modi announced India's commitment to becoming a global leader in semiconductor production, highlighting the importance of semiconductors, modern technologies, and AI to India's future. The Indian Semiconductor mission has begun, with three semiconductor plants approved in Assam and Gujarat. Collectively, the plants are worth Rs 2.18 lakh crore and will focus on sectors including electric vehicles, telecom, defence, automotive, consumer electronics, and power electronics.
