EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu resigns and joins Jacob Zuma's Umkhonto WeSizwe Party.

South Africa's Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president, Floyd Shivambu, has resigned from the party and joined former president Jacob Zuma's newly-formed Umkhonto WeSizwe (MK) Party. Shivambu's resignation has been accepted by EFF leader Julius Malema, who stated that it should not be interpreted as the party's collapse. The departure of the EFF's first and only deputy president, who has been a founding member of the party since its inception in 2013, is expected to have a significant impact on the party's leadership structure.
