Congress party accused PM Modi of pettiness and lack of respect for democratic traditions over seating arrangement for Rahul Gandhi, LO in Lok Sabha, during Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort. Congress party spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said Modi had a "petty mindset" and alleged that the government does not respect democracy, democratic traditions or the Leader of Opposition. The Defense Ministry attributed the seating arrangement to honoring Paris Olympics medal winners. This marked Rahul Gandhi's first attendance at the Independence Day celebrations in a decade.
