900 CHML radio station in Hamilton closes as part of Corus Entertainment's cost-cutting measures.

Canadian media company Corus Entertainment has announced the closure of Hamilton's 900 CHML radio station, part of a series of cost-cutting measures that aim to secure a sustainable future for the company. Due to financial losses caused by shrinking advertising revenues and increased competition from unregulated foreign platforms, Corus will also apply server-based technology at Global News, affecting some roles. The company is targeting a 25% reduction in its full-time workforce by the end of August, compared to the start of the 2023 fiscal year.
