Belfast Zoo is investigating an incident where a staff member was reportedly locked inside a lion enclosure with the lions. The employee was in the enclosure with a more experienced colleague who later left, locking the gates. Belfast City Council, which owns the zoo, is conducting the investigation and has stated that they take the safety of staff, visitors, and animals very seriously.
