37-year-old Curtis L. Pickett from Decatur died in a single-car accident on Tuesday morning. His 2005 Volkswagen Jetta veered off Highway 31 near Garrett Road, struck a road sign and a ditch before overturning. Pickett was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the incident.
