Uttar Pradesh police officers awarded President's Medal for Gallantry for neutralizing key suspects in murder case on Independence Day.
On India's Independence Day, August 15, Uttar Pradesh police officers who neutralized gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed's son Asad Ahmed and shooter Mohammad Ghulam will be awarded the President's Medal for Gallantry. Asad and Ghulam were key suspects in the murder of Umesh Pal, a prime witness in the Raju Pal murder case, and had a bounty of Rs 5 lakh each on their heads. The encounter took place on April 13 in Jhansi.
