14th August, ex-Guizhou Secretary Sun Zhigang faced trial on corruption charges, admitting guilt for accepting 813 million yuan in bribes between 2002-2023.
Sun Zhigang, ex-Guizhou Provincial Committee Secretary, faced trial at Tianjin's No. 2 Intermediate People's Court on corruption charges on 14th August. Accused of accepting 813 million yuan ($113.87m) in bribes, Sun allegedly misused his positions from 2002 to 2023 to aid individuals and organizations in business, stocks, contracts, and real estate. Sun admitted guilt and expressed remorse at the trial.
