Mother Shalorna Warner, whose 8-month-old son Zackary Blades and sister Karlene Warner (30) were killed by a speeding drink driver, has launched a petition calling for mandatory lifelong driving bans for those convicted of causing death by dangerous driving. The petition, which has already garnered over 73,000 signatures, aims to reach 100,000 to be discussed in Parliament. Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen supports Warner's campaign and is working to improve road safety and ensure tougher penalties for such offences.
