Mining firm Victoria Gold faces court applications for receivership from the Yukon government and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun, over the Eagle gold mine. The applications follow a heap leach failure on June 24, which caused a massive release of cyanide-contaminated ore and halted mining activity. Victoria Gold has announced it will oppose the Yukon government's application for a receiver to manage the company and its property.
