Katy Perry's "Lifetimes" music video investigated in Spain for unauthorized filming in protected sand dunes.
Pop star Katy Perry's music video for "Lifetimes" is under investigation by Spain's Balearic Islands' Environment Department for allegedly filming in protected S'Espalmador sand dunes without permission. The dunes, part of the islands' most ecologically prosperous enclaves, were reportedly used in a scene filmed in a prohibited area. Although the investigation views Perry's use of the dunes as an "infringement" rather than a crime against the environment, proper authorization could still be granted for filming in the location. Perry's seventh studio album, "143," is scheduled for release on September 20, 2024.
