Jailed gangster Peter Keating's UK trial for firearms conspiracy and perverting justice is delayed due to extradition case adjournment.
Jailed gangster Peter Keating's UK trial for conspiracy to possess firearms and perverting the course of justice has been delayed after his extradition case was put back. The extradition hearing has been adjourned to a date after its initial case, with the new trial date now expected within 182 days of the new hearing. Keating, currently in an Irish jail, faces potential life imprisonment if convicted. He is accused of plotting with others to reduce the sentence of Kinahan crime syndicate kingpin Thomas 'Bomber' Kavanagh, who was jailed in England for 21 years for drug trafficking. The High Court in Ireland adjourned the extradition hearing to September 18th to accommodate the availability of Keating's senior counsel, Michael Lynn SC.
