India aims to finalize a deal by November-December 2021 for 31 MQ-9B 'hunter-killer' drones from the US, worth $3.9 billion, to counter China and Pakistan's expanding drone fleets. The drones, which can fly 40 hours at 40,000ft, will be assembled in India with Indian components. The first 10 drones are expected within two years, with the rest in batches every six months, for use at ISR command and control centres.
