46% more DDoS attacks occurred in H1 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, with a total of 830,000 attacks and peak attack power rising to 1.7 Tbps. Gcore's report reveals UDP floods as the most common type at 61%, followed by TCP floods (18%) and SYN floods (11%). The technology industry saw more than double the attacks, reaching 15%, with gaming, financial services, and telecommunications also targeted. The US was the top source of network-layer attacks, followed by Germany, Netherlands, and Singapore.
