Honduran President Xiomara Castro met with China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying to strengthen bilateral relations and negotiate a new trade agreement. An "early harvest" agreement will begin on September 1, allowing tariff-free entry of Honduran products like shrimp, coffee, and melons into China. The new trade agreement, once finalized, is projected to increase trade by eight times compared to the rate before Honduras established ties with China in 2023.
