Canadian-US researchers developed a more accurate and faster Mars wind-speed measuring system.

Researchers from Canada and the US developed a new sonic anemometric system to accurately measure Mars' wind speeds. By using a pair of narrowband piezoelectric transducers to measure sound travel time in the Martian atmosphere, the system can measure wind in three dimensions ten times faster and ten times more accurately than previous methods. This improved data collection could aid future Mars missions and provide insights into Earth's climate.
