Boeing secured 72 new plane orders in July, outperforming Airbus which received 59 orders. Boeing's orders, however, are still down compared to last year due to safety concerns. The company continues to face federal investigations and limits on production set by the Federal Aviation Administration. Boeing has delivered 43 jets in July and 218 commercial jets so far this year, lagging behind Airbus's 400 jets delivered in the same period. Despite the wins in July, Boeing has seen its orders decline by more than 35% this year.
