Arkansas AG clears Fort Smith property owners of ties to China under Act 636 investigation.

Arkansas AG Tim Griffin cleared owners of a Fort Smith property at 4811 S. Zero St. of any ties to China or the Chinese Communist Party, following an investigation under Act 636. The law prohibits ownership of certain types of property by entities connected to China, Iran, and North Korea. The property, recently bought by Walmart supplier Olivet International Inc., was initially under scrutiny for potential ties to foreign interference. After reviewing corporate filings and property records, no connections were found.
