93% of abusive comments targeting female politicians on Instagram were not removed by the platform, according to a study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate. The report analyzed 1,000 comments flagged for likely violation of Instagram's rules and found many contained sexually degrading or violent threats. Instagram's parent company, Meta, said it would review the examples and take action on content violating its policies.
