Indian tycoon Sunil Bharti Mittal's investment firm Bharti Enterprises has purchased a 24.5% stake in UK telecoms giant, BT Group. This makes Bharti the company's largest shareholder. The deal, valued at approximately $4 billion, follows a 24% increase in BT's shares over the past six months. Bharti Enterprises aims to create new synergies in the telecom sector between the UK and India, particularly in AI and 5G research and development, as well as core engineering. This strategic investment marks Bharti's entry into the European telecom market.
