HMRC advises against Revolut for tax refunds; recommends UK banks supporting direct transfers.

UK tax authority HMRC warns taxpayers against using banks like Revolut for tax refunds as some don't accept cheques. HMRC can send refunds to UK bank or building society accounts supporting direct transfers. Users of banks without cheque deposit must cancel their cheque refunds and request direct bank transfers. HMRC also recommends setting up a Direct Debit for automating tax payments. If owed a tax refund and using Revolut, request a cheque which can be claimed by a family member or cashed in person.
