A $60m state grant from Governor Gavin Newsom's Encampment Resolution Fund in 2023 helped move 1,975 people on Skid Row, Los Angeles into interim housing and another 990 into permanent housing. This funding also led to 8,000 unsheltered homeless individuals receiving outreach or health services. The Skid Row Action Plan, funded by this initiative, has seen a 14% drop in homelessness and a 22% decrease in unsheltered homelessness.
