Former Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina named suspect in murder case linked to July student protests.

Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been named a suspect in a murder case related to the death of a grocery store owner during student protests in July. A businessman, Amir Hamza, filed the case against Hasina and six other individuals at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's court, alleging that police fired indiscriminately on peaceful student protesters. The case marks the first legal action against Hasina since she resigned and fled to India following widespread protests against her government's job quota system. The student protests, which began in July, eventually led to the fall of Hasina's 15-year rule.
