Azerbaijan's taxpayers increased by 6.3% to 1,562,960 individuals, including 87.2% individuals and 12.8% legal entities, as of August 1, according to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy. Registered commercial institutions rose 8.1% to 183,528, and active VAT payers grew 15.7% to 38,101. Most of the state-registered legal entities were limited liability companies, followed by joint-stock companies and cooperatives.
