Auckland Metro Network electrification project between Papakura and Pukekohe reaches key milestones; full closure for testing until January 2025.

The $419mn Auckland Metro Network electrification project between Papakura and Pukekohe has completed key milestones, including 19km of overhead electric lines installation and Pukekohe Station redevelopment. The project upgrades track, signals, and level crossings and will remain closed for passenger trains until January 2025 for testing and commissioning. Concurrently, KiwiRail's Rail Network Rebuild will enhance train reliability and frequency in Auckland.
