4th Circuit Court upholds Maryland's 2013 assault-style weapon ban and 10-round limit on gun magazines.

Maryland's 2013 assault-style weapon ban has been upheld by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, dismissing arguments by gun rights groups that the law infringes on the Second Amendment. The court also maintained a 10-round limit on gun magazines. One of the plaintiffs, the Firearms Policy Coalition Inc., stated that it will again ask the Supreme Court to review the case. Meanwhile, a federal judge last week ruled that a 2023 Maryland law cannot prohibit licensed gun owners from carrying firearms in bars and restaurants and in private buildings without the owner's permission, while upholding other gun restrictions in the state law.
