South Africa's energy crisis continues, with 2,500MW added by end-August, but load shedding remains a possibility.
South Africa's energy crisis continues despite uninterrupted power supply for 138 days; additional 2,500MW expected to be added to the grid by end of August via Medupi Unit 4 (800MW), Kusile Unit 6 (800MW), and Koeberg Unit 2 (980MW). While improvements have been noted at Tutuka, Kendal, and Kriel power stations, load shedding remains a possibility through summer. Eskom's performance has improved, but the energy crisis is not over.
