Iranian courts reduced jail terms for female journalists Elaheh Mohammadi and Niloufar Hamedi, who covered Mahsa Amini's death. Initially charged with collaboration with the US and facing 6 and 7 years, they were later acquitted of these charges. Their lawyers hope for pardon under a 2023 amnesty and suspension of execution order, but still face remaining sentences for conspiring against state security and propaganda.
