Former AFL player Phil Egan, author of Hawthorn Football Club's racism report, faces accusations of stealing nearly $800,000 from the Indigenous organization Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative, where he worked between 2010 and 2015. Egan is charged with 73 offenses, including obtaining financial advantage by deception and using false documents. He appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court for a committal hearing in relation to these charges.
