Coastguard and Maritime NZ conduct flare training exercise in Whangārei Harbour on Aug 13.

Coastguard and Maritime New Zealand's Rescue Coordination Centre are conducting a flare training exercise in Whangārei Harbour's Snake Bank area on August 13, 7-9pm. Residents and water users can expect to see red/orange distress flares, including some smoke flares, in the sky. The public is asked not to contact emergency services during the exercise.
