Cheesecake surpasses Victoria sponge as UK's favourite teatime treat, per SPAR's Marie Curie survey.
A recent survey by SPAR revealed that cheesecake has overtaken the Victoria sponge as the UK's favourite teatime treat, with chocolate and carrot cake following in second and third place. The research, conducted for Marie Curie's Blooming Great Tea Party, highlights a shift in adult preferences towards American-style sweets, with doughnuts, banoffee pie, and cinnamon buns also making the top 30 list of favourite bakes. Despite 60% of respondents still preferring traditional cakes, contemporary offerings such as pistachio croissants and chocolate Oreo cake have also found favour.
