These upgrades aim to double annual ridership to 66 million by 2040, enhancing reliability, safety, and efficiency. Updates include replacing 75,500 ties, 32 miles of track, and improved track stability on 170 miles. Funding comes from Amtrak grants, federal programs, state and local contributions, and Amtrak revenue.
