Reliance Industries, India's most valuable firm, plans to open its first solar giga-factory by 2024-25, as part of efforts to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2035. The facility, capable of producing photovoltaic modules, cells, and more, is part of a $10bn investment plan to develop a new fuels business utilizing 100GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. This move aims to shift the company towards green power, develop a local supply chain for self-sufficiency, and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
