Protesters at UK National Trust sites demand charity cease banking with top fossil fuel funder, Barclays.

Protesters at National Trust sites in UK, including Grey's Court, Stowe Gardens, and Waddesdon Manor, urged the charity to stop banking with Barclays, Europe's top funder of fossil fuels. Barclays provided $24.221bn (£19bn) in financing to fossil fuel companies in 2023 and $235.2bn (£185bn) since the Paris Agreement in 2016. A resolution mandating the change will be put before the trust's annual general meeting in November.
