Nigeria's federal government has established a renewable energy college in Kogi State, aiming to empower marginalized groups and address the manpower gap in the renewable energy industry. The Barefoot Renewable Energy College, held at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, was attended by Governor Usman Ododo, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji, and Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi. The college aims to foster gender equality, enhance local resilience, and promote renewable energy sources to combat climate change.
