Roper St. Francis Healthcare plans to sell downtown Charleston hospital property to MUSC by 2029 for relocation to North Charleston by 2030.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare plans to sell its downtown Charleston hospital property, including a 900,000 sq. ft. hospital building, medical office building, and parking garages, to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) by 2029. The property will remain operational until its relocation to the North Charleston campus, which is part of Roper's 2030 plan to expand its health system's footprint and broaden access to quality care. Both organizations have a long-standing commitment to serving the Charleston community.
