On Saturday, a fire at Johnson Lake destroyed two houses, spread to two others causing smoke damage, and injured three people. The cause is undetermined, according to the fire marshal. Multiple departments, including Elwood Fire, Gosper County Sheriff's Dept., Lexington Volunteer Fire, Cozad Fire Dept., and Eustis Fire Dept., responded to the incident. A family dog also perished in the fire.
