Australian Public Service Commission issues extended right-to-disconnect guidelines for public sector employers, effective August 26.
The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) released guidelines for public sector employers on how to comply with the new right-to-disconnect rules for employees, effective from August 26. These guidelines go beyond legislation requirements and advise agencies to update position descriptions and job advertisements. However, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Director of Workplace Relations, Jessica Tinsley, suggests that private sector employers should only focus on their legal obligations and not follow the extended APSC guidance.
