55-year-old Guo Zhong Chen, accused of causing €3 million in damages by setting fire to a commercial building in Longford, was denied bail due to concerns of him being a flight risk and potential safety risk to the public. Chen's arrest, charge, and caution were presented by Detective Garda Shane O'Connor, along with extensive CCTV footage and a DNA match to evidence found near the scene. Chen will appear in Mullingar District Court via video link on Monday.
