22-year-old Calgary man, Steven Meier-Araya, faces multiple charges, including luring a child via telecommunications, sexual assault, and child pornography offenses, after allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he met online. The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams' Internet Child Exploitation unit investigated the case after the girl's mother discovered inappropriate content on her daughter's phone. Meier-Araya has been released on court-imposed conditions and is due in court on August 23.
