81-year-old Santa Maria Public Airport District board member David Ernest Baskett faces a misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge for a fatal crash involving a heavy-duty forklift on May 2. Tiffany Ann Peterson, 39, died when the small truck she was a passenger in struck the tines of the rented telehandler driven by Baskett. Baskett will appear in court for an arraignment hearing on September 4.
