Peshawar High Court rejects KP government's request for judicial commission on May 9 riots.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) rejected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government's request to form a judicial commission to investigate May 9 riots in Pakistan. The court cited violation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rules of Business, 1985, as the reason. The riots erupted after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. The government plans to refer the probe back to the provincial cabinet and express their stance in a letter to the high court, despite the PHC's decision.
