Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) announced a $1.1bn increase in public school funding, the largest year-over-year increase in state history. The new budget includes $526m distributed via a new adequacy formula for schools in need, a $100m boost for special education, and a $30m increase for Career and Technical Education. The Reading School District, part of Amanda E. Stout Elementary School, will receive around $40m more than last year.
