A pedestrian died on Red Rock Road in Reno on Aug 9, after being struck by a car at 5 a.m. The pedestrian was walking in the road instead of using the nearby sidewalk. The driver is cooperating with the investigation by Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team. Impairment and speed do not appear to be factors, and the road was closed temporarily.
