2 men, Joseph Howard (32) and Lewis Cull (26), brutally attacked a 32-year-old man in Ellesmere Port, resulting in an induced coma and life-changing injuries. The incident, filmed and circulated locally, led to prison sentences for both attackers. Howard received a 10-year sentence, extended by five years for section 18 wounding with intent, while Cull was given a 7-year, 6-month sentence for section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. Both men were issued restraining orders preventing them from contacting the victim. Detective Sergeant Tom Philpotts expressed hope that the attackers would realize the consequences of their actions while in prison.
