Indian President Droupadi Murmu received Timor-Leste's highest civilian award and discussed cooperation areas with Timor-Leste's President.

During a historic first-ever visit by an Indian President, Droupadi Murmu received Timor-Leste's highest civilian award, the Grand-Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, in recognition of her achievements in public service and dedication to education, social welfare, and women's empowerment. The award was presented by Timor-Leste's President, José Ramos-Horta. Murmu and Ramos-Horta discussed potential areas of bilateral cooperation, including IT, digital technology, health, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and capacity building, and the possibility of Timor-Leste joining the International Solar Alliance.
