On August 9th, Havelock, North Carolina reported a 3,000-gallon untreated wastewater spill at 1221 E. Main Street, leaking into Joe's Branch. This marks the fifth spill in 2024, with previous incidents involving larger amounts of wastewater. The Division of Water Resources is currently assessing the situation.
